What is 'The Code'
In 18th century B.C, in the first dynasty of Babylonia (Present-day Iraq), King Hammurabi's legal text called the 'Code of Hammurabi' included the world's first insurance policy to protect debtors in the case they were unable to make payment due to an unforeseen catastrophic accident.
The Middle East is home to the world's first ever insurance policy.
Our Story
The Code Consultancy is a UAE based business that was founded in May 2023 as a response to the challenges facing MENA insurers to transform their businesses to meet changing customer expectations, a rapidly evolving digital economy, and rigorous market competition.
The Code is also actively involved in initiatives across the MENA region that promote innovative, forward-thinking, and community-centered projects to serve the insurance sector.

Our Founder
Mina Sahib is the Founder and Managing Director of The Code Consultancy. She is a seasoned insurance professional who started her career in Toronto, Canada with North America's largest personal lines insurer. She then moved to the Middle East and worked with and alongside insurers, brokers, start-ups and solution providers in the region.
She is also the Founder of the Women's Insurance Network - MENA, a UAE based initiative she started in 2020 to provide a space for female insurance professionals in the MENA region to network and grow personally and professionally.
Mina is also an Associate Analyst with Celent, and serves on various advisory panels for global and regional Insurtech associations, accelerators and start-ups.
Mina Sahib has a B.A in Political Science from York University in Toronto, Canada, a mini-MBA in Digital Insurance from the TDI Academy, an award in General Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute and is PMP Certified from the Project Management Institute.
